MAINTENANCE: Wok must be cleaned after using once cooled down. If leave wok dirty, a black patina will be destroyed and wok will start rusting. Wash with hot water and soft sponge. Don’t use detergent. Always dry it with a paper towel or low heat. Rub a little oil with a paper towel before storage. Store in a dry place.

So I followed the written instructions on how to season the wok, but it didn’t seem to work and food got stuck to it. After pondering on it I decided to search for a video on how to season a wok and discovered I hadn’t had the wok nearly hot enough and had put way too much oil on. After diligently scrubbing the wok free of my first attempt I did it properly and it works great, it is super sturdy and stirfrys well. Only issue is we used to use our Teflon style wok to cook curry, scrambled eggs, pasta sauce, but this wok isn’t made for that kind of duty. But despite that, I love this wok and cooking on it makes me very happy, even if I don’t get to use it quite as much as I originally intended.

At last I have one

I have always wanted wok , so I purchased one which doesn't have a Teflon coating. As I am trying to move away from cooking equipment which doesn't have it on it. Yes unfortunately you have to pay the price for it. That being said this wok is a fine edition , the cleaning routine is somthing you must do , as it doesn't have a coating on it to protect it from rust. So you have to oil it. Be mindfull of that but a good buy

I seasoned my Wok as recommended and continue to do so and am delighted with its performance. Everything just slides out after which I just wipe it clean with paper towel. I always heat it until it smokes before reusing and no nonstick surface to peel off. Not sure what the negative reviewers were doing with theirs?
